Home Alone

It's the Fourth of July and I'm home alone.  My son's in Costa Rica with a school group, my daughter deserted us to spend the day with her friend's family, the spousal unit is "out with a friend" -- bartender, drinking buddy, lesbian lover -- WTF do I know?  Plus, it's gloomy as hell here: cold, gray, wet.  A perfect Seattle day.  For November.  Plus I've spent all fucking weekend working for The Online Man (henceforward: "Tom").  Doesn't anyone out there feel sorry for me?  Anyone?  Anyone?

Bueller?

  1. Are you kidding? Home alone, and you want someone to feel sorry for you?? I like your label above, by the way.

  2. I would love to feel sorry for you but I'm much too busy being jealous;) On an honest note, normally I would be jealous, but I can see how you would feel that way considering today is a holiday. I hope you ended up having a nice evening anyway. If nothing else, the illegals going crazy may have kept you company. (Are there any of those in your neck of the woods? They're everywhere here.)

  3. I definitely see how the weather (in addition to the rest of it) would get you down, but here it is 98 degrees (expecting 101 tomorrow) and of course 99% humidity. So it could be worse. Plus, at least you don't have to dress up and go to an office.

  4. the illegals? Is that a racist slur, or what?

  5. Are you hoping the spousal unit has a lesbian lover?

Will you be getting paid by Tom?

Were you going to go out mountain biking if it had been sunny? (No you were not. So enjoy the built-in excuse the crap weather provides to stay home and be cozy.)

Oh, and a note to Anonymous -- I believe she meant "illegal fireworks."

  7. Well, there were plenty of fireworks popping around here. Whether they were being set off by undocumented immigrants I can't say.

Sierra -- will it make our Secret Lover relationship hotter or notter if I say yes...or no?

  8. Seriously. 57 degrees and a coat and boots on July 5th is not OK.
